KOSMOS / RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION

Landscaping and paving

External work connects the building to its surroundings. Levels, drainage and thresholds need as much care as the chosen surface finish.

Plan the work as a whole.

Consider access, existing levels, drainage routes, boundary conditions and the intended use of the space before surfaces are installed. Ground preparation should suit the proposed design and conditions.

Care at every interface.

KOSMOS coordinates external works with the building programme. Photographs show garden drainage, paving beside brickwork and a glazed-door threshold, identified by their visible stage and detail.

Questions before you build.

Why plan drainage before paving?

Drainage and finished levels affect how water moves around the building and should be resolved before the final surface is laid.

Can the garden be completed after the house?

It can be phased, but access, service routes and finished thresholds should be coordinated early to avoid disturbing completed work.
